Largesse Derby
A Largesse Derby is a way for the new Landed Baron and Baroness to acquire largesse for their new reign: a way to encourage the creation of largesse through friendly competition.
The Largesse Derby consists of a person and/or group creating six of the same item suitable for presentation as a token of appreciation and generosity. These items may be made by your own hand, or purchased and donated. A Japanese theme is encouraged, but not necessary.
To Enter: Create 6 (or 12 if you are so inclined) items based on a theme, which can be anything, from 'stuff I made on Monday nights' to '13th Century Germanic Ladies Accessories.' The primary rule of entries is that the group should be tagged (your name/group) and ready to be given out as largesse immediately. This is not an A&S competition – no documentation necessary!
Please provide with your entry, in writing, or emailed in advance, the following: Item description, SCA name, Mundane name, mailing address, email address.
Prizes (must be present to win [or have a delegate present]):
Prize Cache: 1 item from each 1/2 dozen will go into a prize cache, and each entrant will choose 1 item at the end of the tourney! (Names drawn for order of choosing.)
Populace Winner: Entries are voted on in a bean count, and the winner is the entrant with the most beans. The populace winner gets one item from each of the other competitors!
Royal/Baron(ess)/Baron(ess) Choice: Each pair will also get to pick a winner. Those winners get to choose 1 item from 3 other entries.
